GDPR and real estate agencies

Added: 1.10.2020

General Data Protection (GDPR) je nariadenie Európskeho parlamentu a Rady (EÚ) 2016/679, ktoré bolo zverejnené v roku 2016 a vzťahuje sa na ochranu fyzických osôb pri spracovaní osobných údajov.

This regulation will enter into force on May 25, 2018 and applies to all companies and organizations, including real estate agencies.

Real estate agents must be able to prove a valid consent to the use of personal data. Each person will have the right to access the data, which means that you must be provided with information on whether any data about you are being processed in the given company. The right to be forgotten will allow you to request the deletion of data if they are no longer needed for the purpose for which they were obtained or the consent to processing has been revoked and there is no other basis for processing. The new regulation also imposes a notification obligation, which in practice means that the processor is obliged to report any threat to the security of personal data no later than 72 hours after he became aware of it.

Our company Bosen Group perceives this step of the European Union as very positive. It is true that the volume of our administration will increase rapidly, but the protection of our clients comes first. In cooperation with our law firm and the Real Estate Union of the Slovak Republic, we are thoroughly preparing for the change that will occur. If you would like to learn more about this topic, we would like to welcome you to one of our branches.
